Castle Scene, early 1500's

Another illustration inspired by those 19th century genre-painters. I'm fascinated by how well they were able to capture materials, especially fabrics, and I wanted to try something similar with this. Once again I made a 3D scene as a base. For the background and furniture I painted over the 3D render. The characters were painted from scratch but I used my 3D models as reference.

The room design was based on a number of different 16th century castles and I put a lot of effort into making all the details as authentic as I could.
